We love roses. NO! we are obsessed with roses. We plant them in our gardens, we bring them into our homes by vase after vase full, we decorate our beds with rose linens and our cupboards with rose china~ and why not~ we think they are the perfect flower.
Roses have a long and colorful history. They have been symbols of love, beauty, war, and politics. The rose is, according to fossil evidence, 35 million years old.* But then, so is the alligator! We think roses are more romantic~ don’t you?

PINK FRIDAY.. it's just so exciting!

It's almost PINK FRIDAY again at MakeMinePink.com and I'm so excited! Each week the boutiques at Make Mine Pink offer themed items at special prices for our ever faithful customers and friends. Who knew that I would become one of the MOST FAITHFUL customers at this event!! If I were completely honest, I'd have to tell you that I start peeking in the windows on Thursday night, making a list of where I'll shop first! Every now and then I find an item listed for PINK FRIDAY with and active add to cart button. Well lets just say I get a little thrill being able to buy it before the virtual doors open! Hey.. a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!! I love the hunt, I love the thrill of finding a great piece at a special price! Pink Friday at Make Mine Pink... An English Tea

This has been a crazy week that has definitely interfered with business! Despite all of the obstacles in my way, marketing and networking went on as usual! Which brings me to my reason for posting today! I didn't want to miss an opportunity to invite you to the latest, greatest and hottest event on the web! Ok.. maybe not the hottest event on the web yet.. but we're getting there! PINK FRIDAY at Make Mine Pink is quickly becoming all of those things I mentioned! The women behind the Boutiques of MMP have taken shopping one step further. Every Friday they offer a new themed shopping event. This week happens to be "An English Tea." All participating boutiques will offer very special merchandise and put it in a special section that will make it really easy for you to find on Friday Morning. When this event was in the planning stages, I knew what potential it had. What I didn't count on was just how much I would personally come to enjoy it. I love the ease of shopping and the fact that if I happen to have a soft spot for all things TEA, I can click on the link of each participating shop and find exactly what my heart desires. Add the thrill of the getting there first and grabbing that one of a kind treasure, well lets just say it leaves me smiling like a Cheshire cat! Doesn't it brings to mind the huge department store sales you see in the movies - where there are two women grabbing for and fighting over the same sweater? Only one person gets that sweater and I just love it when it's me!

Spoonflower anyone?

I ran across this amazing blog/beta company a few weeks ago and I am so excited to share this with you! It's called spoonflower! http://blog.spoonflower.com/

Spoonflower in the beginning stages of printing custom fabric. Their beta site lets you design and upload your own designs and they in turn print your fabric. You can order up to 5 yards of one design. If you want to see if you'll like the fabric, you can just order a swatch.
Well, I didn't waste a minute! I've already got my designing shoes on! I've uploaded 2 of my own designs already this week! 

In order to use their beta program, you have to apply to participate.It took less than a week for me to get accepted. So, please head on over to spoonflower and get in on the ground floor of this exciting opportunity! Just imagine the possibilities for us creative souls!

Pink Friday at Make Mine Pink!

I'm happy to report that PINK FRIDAY at MakeMinePink.com was a huge success last week! The Theme for our very first event was Springtime in Paris. Not only did the shops have some fabulous products with a French Flair.. but I did some mad shopping myself! One of my favorite Cape Cod desitinations.

I'd hoped to get this posted sooner because I just wanted to share this small but spectacular town on Cape Cod. Last week I took you to the small pie shop in Chatham that makes the best pie I have ever had. Well this small town just gets better and better. Can't you just picture yourself living here? Look at the quaint downtown and some of the beautiful house I stumbled across,

I loved this hardware store with the vintage inspired pedal cars in the window.

This is a small but charming cedar shingled Cape Cod House that caught my eye.

Ohhh this one has some character! I could picture myself living here.

If you're looking for a really charming Coastal Community to visit, Chatham would be one of my first recommendations! I know that you'd love it!

You have not lived if you haven't visited Marion's Pie Shop.

Two days before we packed up to leave our little piece of paradise, I remembered a little pie and bake shop I'd found when we explored Chatham earlier in the month. I know how much Jim LOVES pie and suggested he check them out and see if they had a pie he'd like. It didn't take him long to find this quaint little bakery on Rt 28 in Chatham.

Jim was back home within an hour with a mini blueberry pie. All I can say is.. I can't believe I didn't try her pies when I discovered the shop! This pie wasn't just very good.. it was great. I knew where we'd be going the next day!
We got up bright and early and made plans to get a FULL SIZED pie! No mini pie today! Today we were going to try a peach-blueberry pie. When I tell you that this pie almost made me weep.. it wouldn't be a lie. I have never tasted anything like this in my life! Our pie was still warm when I had my first bite. The pie was made with fresh peaches and Maine blueberries and would make you drop to your knees. Well.. if you weren't too busy eating that is! If you're ever in the Cape Cod area, please make sure you visit Marion's Pie shop. It's right on Rt 28 in Chatham and I believe it's open 7 days a week! I promise you won't be disappointed.

I can hardly believe it's time to pack up and leave this little piece of paradise on the Cape. It's been an interesting and eventful month! I'll post a few more pics when I get home.. but for now I promised I'd pick the winner of our latest drawing!

I can't believe it's been more than a week!

I know I promised I'd check in more often but somehow this past week just got away from me. BUSINESS has a way of sneaking into even the best planned "writing vacation." I have been knee deep in CottageCollections.com and MakeMinePink.com business all week. Today is the first day that I have had a chance to do a little writing.  Tomorrow Jim joins me here at STORMY Cape Cod. I hope to really keep my nose to the grindstone and get some work done by day and enjoy the evenings with my DH. I have a bag full of firewood and loads of marshmallows that need to be toasted!

As some of you know, I took a day off and headed to P-Town on on Tuesday for a great day of shopping and fresh air. I was starting to get a little case of Cabin fever.. and dayin the sun was just what I needed! Of course you KNOW I wouldn't go shopping without buying something for you though.
